Axion Polymers: who are we?

Axion Polymers is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of recycling specialists, S. Norton Group. Our integrated waste processing and manufacturing operations create a unique circular economy business with materials recovery at its heart.

Our Journey

The business was originally launched in 2002 as a recycling sector technical consulting firm. Before long, we started working with metal recyclers S. Norton on ways to recover plastics from the end-of-life vehicles and appliances the company were shredding. We soon established both that much of the material at that point going to waste could be recovered, and that processing this material presented a viable business opportunity.

The outcome was the development of our own sorting and reprocessing plants, producing a range of high quality polymers using material recovered from S. Norton’s metal shredder residue. We also started to sell alternative fuels as co-products.

In 2018, Axion was acquired by S. Norton Group. In 2022, the decision was made to merge processes and structures whilst keeping the brands distinct.

We now have a new combined S. Norton/Axion Polymers senior management team with an ambitious growth strategy plus a commitment to delivering sustainability goals. As part of this growth strategy, we are focusing on product development and sales, and no longer offering consultancy services.
